Weekly Watchlist and Review

Welcome back to another edition of our Weekend Watchlist and Review at ALERTSANDNEWS.COM! Last week was nothing short of electrifying in the markets, with some serious runners. Let’s dive into the heart of the action and see how our alerts fared.

We began the week on a high note. Our AMAM swing from 12/18/23 was an incredible call, jumping from a 14.73 buy to a phenomenal 26.91 sell on 1/8 – a dime. NKTX broke its trend at 9.55, hitting 7 targets up to 10.70. ACON, with its news alert at 4.20, nearly hit 6 targets from our pre market buy alert at 6.09. SPEC and CLRB both hit their targets, with OMGA a great overnight gain.

1/9 was just as impactful. NEXI was the standout, alerted twice and hitting an impressive 19 targets combined. ALT and CCCC were the overnight plays, both exceeding their buy alerts. CUTR made a great move from our alert as well.

1/10 saw NEXI back in the limelight, surging from a buy at 11.31 to an impressive 14.49 nailing multiple targets along the way. OMGA continued its positive trend, showcasing the potential of short term swing plays.

Yesterday, MARA showed strong performance, hitting multiple targets from a 27.62 buy. IRBT swung from 29.71 to a top of 32.20, highlighting the effectiveness of our swing strategy. GSK‘s dividend payout was a testament to the benefits of compounding plays. MRSN’s short-term swing delivered well.

Let’s look at some oversold and/or highly shorted stocks.

Grasping the dynamics of oversold and heavily shorted stocks is key for traders and investors looking to capitalize on emerging opportunities. Oversold stocks can be hidden gems, potentially undervalued due to market overreaction. On the other hand, stocks with high short interest are prime candidates for a short squeeze, a situation where a swift price surge happens as short sellers rush to close their positions.

MSS: This one has been through the wringer lately, to say the least. The stock’s taken quite a beating. Just look at its RSI and MACD they’re in the gutter, showing just how oversold it is. But what’s really kicked MSS while it’s down are the relentless short reports. These have pummeled the stock. But as any trader knows, this could also set the stage for a dramatic comeback. Keep an eye on this one, MSS might just surprise us with a rebound.

DCGO: Another name that’s feeling the heat from short sellers. These short reports have really taken a toll, dragging the stock down significantly. With short interest at about 13%, there’s potential for a sharp rebound when shorts cover. Keep an eye on DCGO – its current lows might just be a setup for an impressive rally.

AMC: once a market monster, is now a tale of falling from grace. This stock has been beaten down to a pulp. It’s a stark contrast to its glory days. The Stoch RSI? Buried in the dirt, signaling just how hard it’s been hit. But for those of us watching the market’s ebb and flow, the big question hangs in the air – when will the rebound hit? It’s all about eyeing those volume ratios now.

NVOS: Friday brought a cryptic tweet from the company – ‘We are on the cusp of a milestone.’ This has left everyone buzzing. What could this milestone be? Especially since NVOS has been so battered lately. Remember the hype back in the fall? Keep it on the radar.

Oversold beat up stocks to eye,

AGL, RUM, CANO, VTNR, VCIG, NNDM, LAC, LAZR.

Alright, let’s break down what’s on the economic calendar for the week of January 15th-19th and it’s a busy one. First off, don’t forget the markets are closed on Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. day.

Come Tuesday, we’re back in action. Keep an ear out for what Fed Gov. Christopher Waller has to say. His words could give us some hints about where the Fed’s head is at these days.

Wednesday’s the day things really heat up. We’ve got a bunch of reports dropping – Import Price Index, Retail Sales, you name it. These numbers will tell us a lot about where the economy’s heading. Plus, there’s a whole lineup of Fed folks speaking, including Vice Chair Michael Barr and Governors Michelle Bowman and John Williams. They’re likely to drop some serious clues about future policy moves.

Industrial production and capacity utilization are also on Wednesday’s menu. These are key to gauging how our industries are doing. Oh, and don’t miss the Fed’s Beige Book – it’s like getting the inside scoop from different regions across the country.

Thursday, we’re looking at jobless claims and the Philly Fed manufacturing survey. These will give us a pulse on the job market and manufacturing sector. Plus, more from Atlanta Fed President Raphael Bostic. Housing starts and building permits are on the docket too, so we’ll get a peek into the real estate scene.

Finally, Friday rounds off the week with consumer sentiment and existing home sales numbers. These are big indicators of how confident folks are feeling about the economy. And to top it off, we’ve got more Fed chatter, with Vice Chair Barr and San Francisco Fed President Mary Daly taking the mic.

So, gear up for a week packed with insights that could shake up the market. From crucial economic data to Fed speeches, each day’s got something that could sway your investment decisions.
